Errata

This page will contain any errata. If you find a mistake or potential issue with any of the cards, or have any questions about any of the cards, feel free to leave a comment below.

Suggested Player Card Errata

Here’s some errata for official cards which should make the game a bit more enjoyable, assuming you’re trying to build mostly thematic decks. A lot of the official errata was enacted to stop degenerate combos which shouldn’t show up unless you’re actively trying to break the game. We don’t see why some people trying to break the game should impact your fun, which is why these undo some official errata.

(If you really need errata to stop yourself from going infinite—because you apparently have no self-control—A Long-Extended Party has you covered)

Steward of Gondor

“Attached hero gains the Gondor trait.” → “Attach to a Gondor hero”

This is a popular house rule which helps restrict the power of Gondor to the people of Gondor. Leadership has gained quite a few ways of adding resources in recent years, you don’t need to rely on Steward of Gondor anymore.

Master of Lore

“Lower the cost for you to play the next [Lore] card of that type by 1 until the end of the phase (to a minimum of 1).” → “Lower the cost for you to play [Lore] cards of that type by 1 until the end of the phase (to a minimum of 1).”

This undoes the errata which turned an interesting card into a worthless piece of cardboard to stop a needlessly convoluted combo. Just don’t add this card to your dwarf decks or don’t somehow include Born Aloft into that deck and you’ll be fine.

We Are Not Idle

“Exhaust X Dwarf heroes to add X resources to a hero’s resource pool and draw 1 card.” → “Exhaust X Dwarf characters to add X resources to a hero’s resource pool and draw 1 card. X can’t be 0.”

This mostly undoes the original errata. It takes it back to being a great way of gaining resources in Dwarf decks (especially in a world where they can’t play Steward of Gondor), but also makes it less of a free card unlike the original and errata’ed version.

Individual Doomed

Player cards with the Doomed keyword can be tough to play with multiple players. While some cards scale well (often becoming very powerful), many become downright unplayable. To help mitigate this, we suggest that the doomed keyword on the following cards only effects the player who plays the card or activates the effect:

Close Call, Greyflood Wanderer, Gríma, Henneth Annûn Guard, Herald of Anórien, Mirkwood Pioneer, Saruman (ally), Soldier of Isengard, Steward of Orthanc, and The Seeing-stone.
